The Haven - only a building, but a quite nice one really

High quality linen and towels provided for the most snugglesome tactile experience.
Egyptian cotton sheets and feather and down duvets heighten the sensory stimulation to a frenzy. Thank goodness there's the view over the green from your bed to massage the back of your eyes.

When you fancy eating out, the splendid Crown Hotel is fifty yards from the front door. Chris, the owner has become somewhat of a celebrity chef recently so you have to get in early for a table. Being so close you've got a head start though. And then, also on the green, is the Globe, which is also very good, but to be honest there so are many splendid places to eat and hang out we're a bit spoilt. There's a wish list below.

Downstairs the Haven has a gas range cooker, a washing machine, fridge, toaster, Rayburn, microwave, TV, DVD, CD, shower and toilet. Upstairs the bathroom and three bedrooms, two double beds, two single beds. High chair and travel cot for those with little ones. And there is a small garden at the front for watching the trees on the green in the evening sun.

This is a still from a brilliant documentary.

The ship is Albatros, a 108 year old Dutch Klipper. Her captain, Ton Brouwer, is as rugged and nautical as a barnacle's bottom.  www.albatros.eu.com
